Updated my where-to-submit-short-fiction file today, so here's a copy & paste, Y'all . . . Flash www.avenireclectia.com/p/join-us.htmlAny Speculative fiction www.themidnightdiner.com/submit-your-work/provisionbooks.com/category/online-journal/www.digitaldragonmagazine.net/www.crossandcosmos.com/Horror www.fearandtremblingmag.com/Hard science fiction. www.resaliens.com/www.raygunrevival.com/Wikkipedia had this to say about Ray Gun Revival’s space-opera genre: Space opera is a subgenre of speculative fiction that emphasizes romantic, often melodramatic adventure, set mainly or entirely in outer space, generally involving conflict between opponents possessing advanced technologies and abilities." From ~ Johne Cook, Overlord of RGR: Ray Gun Revival does not publish anything overtly Christian. They specialize in qualitative pre-evangelistic fiction. The editor took time to comment on the matter . . . Frank, to be clear, RGR does not publish overt Biblical spec-fic, but there's a good reason for that. Because our audience are secular sci-fi fans who would otherwise not darken the door of a church or stick around for blatantly Christian stories, we choose to look for stories with a clear moral message such as is common in the clear black and white vibe of space opera and golden age sci-fi / pulp adventure stories. I think of our stuff as pre-evangelistic. It is true that many of us are sympathetic to Biblical spec-fic, but it would be a misnomer to say that RGR is typified by that. We know our audience, and we're taking the harder road of trying to get a first toe-hold with that audience without driving them off.

Thanks for the links, Frank! Golly, for some reason I thought Ray Gun Revival folded around the same time Mindflights did. Good to know it's still out there!

Had to wonder -- there'd been no new RGR stories since late last year, but neither was there any announcement (that I could find) about discontinuing the monthly publication. Do you know whether they'll be posting submission calls for their anthologies?

Greetings, Earthlings!
At this time, RGR only has plans for one anthology, and it's being headed up by Bryan Thomas Schmidt and Every Day Fiction, our publisher for the past couple of years. Bryan suggested doing an anthology called Raygun Chronicles and he successfully ran a Kickstarter to fund the anthology. Raygun Chronicles is set to publish in November, 2013:
Bryan has already populated the Ray gun Chronicles anthology. No further anthologies are planned at this time, however, we greatly appreciate the interest.
Kind regards,
Johne Cook Ray Gun Revival magazine
