I realize I'm doing "power-paragraphing" at the moment...sorry. Bear with me, please.
Characters:
Ervana is a female human/mage (wizard in training). She has dark blue-green hair that hangs just past her shoulders in straight, uneven edges. Her eyes are dark, almost ebony in color and almond shaped. Her face is heart-shaped. Her nose is small and stub-like (but cute) and her mouth is small but full. Her skin is tanned, as a sheep farmers would be, with a smattering of freckles on her cheeks, nose, arms, and legs. She is two agespans old (think along the line of decades/centuries...I haven't decided yet). She is tall, thin, athletic, but feminine. Her farm clothing of choice is a brown tunic paired with grey leggings and a short grey skirt. Her mage clothing of choice (or, rather, what she wears as a mage) consists of a white tunic and white leggings worn beneath a silver robe trimmed in white. Her footwear of choice are grey deerskin boots.
She is shy in nature, but loves to tease her friends. She isn't that knowledgeable about social things, having grown up in a farming country and socialized with her family for the most part. She believes in one God, solely, whom her people call the Host. She's intelligent and witty, but, in new settings, tends to hold back.
Her main goal is to discover her powers as a wizard. Other, more personal goals are to find out who she is and what Host's purpose is in her life; discover who Joakin is (the man she saw in a vision long before she actually met him); and to honor her family by honoring the Code of Host. Her biggest fear is failure of all of the above. Her smaller fears are of FireSprites, bees and wasps, and never falling in love.
The lesson she needs to learn is who Host is to her and what His main purpose is in her life.
Her pet (a forgaldragon...the size of a kitten, furry purple, and able to fly, but not breathe fire) is Rala. He's intelligent, polite, and sometimes silly.
She tends to speak with purpose....a little background now:
Leaving the farm, Ervana strides into the wizarding acropolis with reverent steps, because she finally feels she will find her purpose. She discovers she is a level 10 mage (only 2 more stages to true apprentice). Every mage has a vision. Ervana tells hers as follows:
“I was standing at the threshold of a large room but could not step inside. There were several wizards within the room waiting for me. Yet, there was some force at the door keeping me from the room. I reached out my hand to touch it, but the door closed. I turned to look down the hallway and saw a wizard standing there. He spoke to me, saying, ‘Many have tried, but none could get in. I had hopes you were the one.’ He shook his head and walked off. I turned to the door and asked it to give me another chance. It opened, the barrier still there. This time I stared at the barrier ‘til I could see the force that was behind it. I reached toward the center of the force and squeezed it. I broke the barrier and was able to walk through, but the group of wizards was gone. The wizard from the hall stood there and smiled. ‘Good work,’ he told me. ‘Good work, Ervana, my aria.’ Then I awoke.”
Now, for the "wizard from the hall":
Joakin is tall, almost 3 agespans old, blue (like twilight) round eyes, white hair that falls to his shoulders seemingly unkempt, and skin the color of olives. His face is round. His nose is small and pointy-ish. His smile is warm and welcoming. His clothing consists of green leggings and tunic with white robes with green and silver trim. He weilds a wooden staff with two dragons carved along it's trunk, their heads perched at the top with a clear crystal in between their open mouths. His footwear of choice are green deeskin boots.
More on him later, methinks...I haven't completely figured him out yet.
As to minor characters, I only have a list, nothing more...for the moment: Lady Minerva (a she-wizard); Avett (a level 8 mage who likes Ervana); and Rala (who we've met in Ervana's desc).
Hope I haven't...um...overloaded here.
Lemme know what ya'll think.
