This morning I am going in to have PRK performed on my eyes. Basically PRK is a safer LASIK. It's even the same laser that does the actual surgery. The only difference is the way that the eye is accessed.
That said, the recovery time for PRK is approximately 30 days with 7 days off. During those thirty days, my eyes will be in pain, need a constant supply of eyedrops, and my vision will go in and out. So, even though I have 7 days to recover, my vision will be unreliable for thirty... yeah, so the morning drive to work will be just a little bit scary, but what's life with out excitement, right? ... okay, so I think a life without excitement is full and rewarding, but that's just me.
Your prayers would mean a great deal to me, and would speed my recovery. Also please pray for Jamie as she has to take care of me. Finally, I won't be here suring this time beause I won't be able to see the screen. This especially sucks as I have a number of friends that this is the only method of communicating, ie: all of you, and I will miss you all. Still, I should be able to see well enough in 14 days or so.
God bless you all, and thankyou for your prayers -- CS aka Glyn

Well, I probably missed my chance to post this and have you see it before the surgery, but I am praying that it goes perfectly and your recovery is ideal.
Man, you're just determined to put your young marriage through as many trials as you can, aren't you! LOL.

Woohoo! It was a success! Right now I'm typing this without any form of eyewear!... well, if you discount the bandage contacts, anyway. Speaking of which, I'm due to get those out today, and I'll be back at work tomorrow. I'll type out my experience later on. I think you will find it interesting.
Thanyou so much for your prayers, and may God bless you all -- CS

I've thought about getting eye surgery, but people keep telling me how good I look in glasses that the vanity in me wants to kinda keep them. But I'm not vain enough to wear glasses with a 0 prescription just for the sake of wearing them. Glad to hear that it's going well for you, though.
