Hi! I posted this under someone else's welcome a few days ago when I first joined. Just decided I'm make my own spot. A basic "401": Christian (20-some years), senior editor who works with meteorologists; Bachelor's in English (PSU, 1990) and sort of a minor in biology. Hobbies: reading (true crime, some fantasy and science fiction), gardening, guinea pigs, dance (oriental, other), yoga. I write a gardening blog, but I want to be more disciplined at getting my speculative fiction written. I have so many ideas sometimes that focus is difficult. So, I'm glad to be here. Perhaps I'll give more details when I'm not pressed for time, if that ever happens. (I only have internet access at work, and work comes first.) A sampling of my favorite writers: PK thingy, George MacDonald, Anne Rule Garden blog: jen-gardenblog.blogspot.com

Kristen:
Thanks for the welcome! I'll try to help with gardening issues. Even if I don't know the answer, I may know a website or a book. Do you garden?
Jeff:
Thanks! Visited your site on occasion and finally joined this board. Congrats on starting Marcher Lord Press!

When I asked the builders for "Idiot-proof" landscaping, they planted heather, and I killed it. My husband does all the gardening now.

If it makes anyone feel better, I seem to kill spider plants lately! So easy to grow that I forget them. They dry out and die. I think that's why.
Kristen: I've never grown heather. Maybe you need shrubs. Almost everything depends on your climate and soil type. The more suited a plant is to your region, usually the less husbandry (care) is required.
Hmm. I'm single and I garden. I'm into "husbandry". There has to be a joke hidden in there.
Robi: one person's weed can be another one's food. 'Glad you keep the legal weeds.

As a bachelor in his mid-twenties, about all I can grow is mold in my refrigerator.

Excuse the lateness, I just got out of the Sand Box. Belated Greetings! You've fallen off the map. Good thing too, we need some green around ehre . As for my own growing skills, since everyone brought it up... well.... I inherited my mother's black thumb. Once again, welcome aboard!

Hey there! I am the resident Hard Sci-Fi nut, and I love to answer questions.
Do you know an easy way to kill mold gnats. They are driving my wife crazy.
Scincerely,
