I haven't seen a wagon train of storms like this since '04.
Looks like the Eastern Seaboard is going to get soaked this weekend, and it seems Ike will take a swipe at Florida even if the eye doesn't make direct landfall. And the windfield is due to be at our latitude on the same day our paper normally goes to press. At the risk of sounding like a geezer, this is like the summer of '04 all over again.
When I saw three storms lined up on the forecast maps, I was reminded of one of our local weather guys who, while we still had Frances and Gaston on the map when Ivan showed up, gestured at the radar image and said "I don't even want to talk about it."
I'm in the middle of the state, so I don't have much to worry about except having my deadline moved up so we can beat the storm. Please pray for the people on the coasts, and in the Caribbean.
