Don’t you hate it when your Orwellian fiction comes true? I don’t toot my own horn often, but this is too . . . something.
My Flashpoint’s timeline includes a fuel-crisis leading to Great Depression II. You seen the news lately?
Sometime prior to 1984, Francis Schaeffer observed that New World trends follow those in the Old World. Cultural similarities in the US lagged about 100 years behind our historical brother, Europe. Telecommunications seem to have closed that gap to around 80 years. This post-9/11 moment happens to coincide with when Europe dealt with fascism.
It has been observed that the Bush Administration has taken the same ten-similar-steps to tyranny. Names like Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, T’Se Tung; not good bedfellows, y’all.
My fiction carries an Orwellian warning to our sub-culture about how bad our future could be. Ever watched Schindler’s List on Memorial Day? Let’s not find ourselves ghettoized.
