As all things must, my leave has come to an end. I write this wearing my uniform, wishing that I hadn't had to put it on this morning. So starts my final week in the states, at least for a while.
Although this doesn't mean that ya'll are rid of me just yet, it does mean that, starting this Saturday, Jamie and I will be highly dependant on your prayers. As I depart for the third time in my career, I also ask that you pray for my parents. As well as myself and my family, I ask that you pray for the other soldiers that go with me. Some of them have no one to pray for them, and they will need it. I also ask that you pray for my chain of command as they make decisions that may mean life or death for some of us. Ultimatlely, this includes my new boss: President-elect Obama. He needs all the wisdom he can get to lead our nation onwards through out march through history.
Finally, I ask that you pray for those we leave to replace. They won't be home in time for Christmas and, more than likely, they missed the last one as well. This is also a time when the insurgents like to increase the number of attacks on American and Iraqi troops.
I thank you both in advance for the prayers to come and for the prayers you have prayed already. May God bless all of you

Thankyou all. I hope to be back here as soon as possible, but I have no idea when that may be. They've moved my flight date to this Friday, so we're having to scramble to get everything done and prepare. Praise the Lord that my Dad was able to wring out an extra day from his boss, normally they can't take any leave around now.

But you'll be in touch via the Internet, right?

Glyn,
It's been great talking with you on here and sharing PMs. I know as of late we haven't PM'd as much as we did earlier, but I just wanted to let you know I've enjoyed it. May you be successful out there and may you be able to occasionally get on here to see what Anomalous things are happening on this board. Have a safe trip.
Be encouraged,
David

Rumour has it that we will have freely available Internet at our FOB. We should touch be there sometime in January. Even if there isn't, I have already purchased an internet transceiver for use there. All I need to do is have Jamie, my wife, send it to me.
David, thank you for your kind words and encouragement. True, it's been a while since we've seen each other online. I sincerely hope to be able to continue here much as I did last time.
For any who wish it, I can give out my address once I am over seas, but I can send it out via PM or e-mail, whichever is your preference.
Once again, thankyou all for your prayers, your thoughts, and your support. You guys helped get me through the last one, and I know that you will help me get through this one also.

God's love and protective armor for you, CS, and for all our soldiers at home and abroad. When my brother-in-law was in Iraq, I prayed Psalm 91 for him regularly as well as for the others at his particular base and their families waiting for their safe return. I will do the same for you.

Thank you so much, metalikhan, and everyone. I have an additional prayer request before I board that plane tomorrow. I just got paid, but they deducted $400 from the usual amount. That's enough to break us. It happened to a friend of mine, too, and with him they took another $400 out of his end of the month pay check as well. I do not know why they would do such a thing, but we need your prayers to get through this. My parents have lent us a little, and some of my other family had given us some cash for the holidays, but this is too much.
Please pray both for financial restitution and for our peace of mind. I don't need this, especially right now.
I'll see you guys on the flip side. God bless you all-- CS

Our whole congregation will be praying for you Glyn. We will raise up in particular this financial problem. God bless you, and thank you for your service to all of us.

First off: I'm safe, here in Mosul. That's the most important thing. Next up: the financial situation has been taken care of... not in the manner I would prefer, but taken care of none the less. Kuwait was ... well, not a fun experience tempered only by the fact that I've been there before. Regardless, we got some good training done and are as ready as possible to taake over the mission here. Living conditions here are tolerable and temporary. Right now we're crammed into rooms and tent with all our buddies around us. The good news here is that if any of the privates have nightmares they can always roll onto their neighbor's bunk for a hug. Oh, and we also have the vocal talents of an enraged chainsaw a few bunks down. Good think I have good ear buds for my MP3 player. I don't hear a thing . As for internet, I'm stuck using the Morale Welfar and Recreation, MWR, internet cafe. It's free, but I can't download or upload anything. Once we have a more permanent housing situation I'll have my satellite dish shipped over and set up my internet service/business like last time. Let's just say that I don't have a shortage of customers. Once again, I thank you all for your prayers and support. God bless -- CS

Prayers and Ps 91 continuing for you, CS. Glad to hear you've arrived safely.
Would you like a prayer for a chainsaw muffler?
