There is now a robot out there designed to strut down the catwalk. [Click here! It's actually quite amazing to see the fluidity of the movements in the video below.

Forgive me for editing your post, VaporWolf, but please do not embed video or pictures in the future.
Moderator duties aside, I wonder what all those fashion models will do? It's just another example of humans job being replaced by robots and computers. Tsk, tsk, tsk

Reminded me of Fritz Lang's Metropolis!

Sorry folks, I think it's cool. I'm sure like any piece of technology it can (and probably will) be misused, but it's still a pretty awesome piece of work.

You mean make a robot with a human face that can walk and show facial expressions?
In the movies themselves, sure. In reality, no. Any android can pretty much be played by a human with a costume or created via CG.
The technology's pretty impressive. Wonder what it'll be like in ten, twenty years. Will we ever get to the point where it's hard to distinguish between the robots and the people?
What would it be like to meet someone and then later find out they're a robot?

What about the robotics used in Herbie? Narnia? Lord of the Rings? Others. There's some pretty sophisticated stuff making those beasty faces move and express themselves, and it's mechanical, not CG, according to the special features.

A friend of mine was in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III, and I got to visit him on set. Yes, I met Master Splinter and got to see all the wires sticking out of his back. Didn't get his autograph, though.

This is pretty cool...Japan is so way ahead of us in robotics it's amazing.
They'll have to make some improvements to its walking though before it can strut the catwalk. Its walking doesn't look quite natural yet.
