Not really sure where this should go...but if you can't ask your friends for help, then where do you go???
Our paper is trying desperately to move into the 21st century (we're still kinda stuck in the Model T era) in designing our webpage.
Goes without saying none us know anything about webbuilding.
But here's my question: where can we download an EASY (like for pre-kindergarteners, in basic English not techspeak) ad making program to make simple dynamic ads (like the kind that slowly change from one picture to another), and banner ads.
Seems like this would be easy to find on the net, but we're having no luck.
And living in a small rural town, several lightyears from a major metropolis, the number of volunteering techs are between nil and zilch.
Any ideas?

You can make them off of computer programs. The one I have is Nova Development Publisher Pro and is a cheaper version of PhotoShop unless you want the real thing for $700. It's only $50 and you can make ANYTHING. Webpages, newsletters, cards, calendars.
And it downloads as two: Pro and Image Editor. You can make animations on the Editor.

You can download the GIMP , which is free, but be prepared to spend some time learning to use it. This may sound weird, but you could also ask your employees to ask their kids and kids' friends about it too. There's a lot of pent up talent out there in these young minds.

Thanks guys! Can't wait to start trying to figure this out.... We have tried asking the high school and middle school kids for help. Not sure they're taking us seriously.
The company already has Adobe Photoshop, albeit an older version. So if I can start with this software, what do I look for initially?
And does anybody know anything about building websites? We just switched to BlueHost as a server and downloaded Drupal, but everything is so far over our heads, we can't even get a single page up and running. Any ideas where to look for help?

Are you looking for HTML? Or more advanced coding like CSS, XHTML, PerlScript, CGI (these last two are programming scripts). I build them from straight HTML, which can be a pain, but it so much fun.

You also might want to look for pre-built websites like WordPress and the like. True, getting these up and running can be a pain, but once up, you don't gave to mess with it anymore. Either that or try and find a good html editor that does all the work for you, but be prepared to learn that program as well.
As for Adobe, most forms of adobe anything have tutorials built in that will take you through everything you need to know about the program. These tutorials tend to have exercises, examples, and lots of explanations.
It'll take some doing, namely learning so much from a dead start, but it IS doable.
