What classes are you looking to take? And are you decided on a major? Sorry, I'm just now getting around to answering. I have. I'm going to be taking, this quarter: Anatomy and Physioloy 1, Principles of Psychology, and Into to Sociology. I'm planning on completing an Associate's of Applied Science as a Paramedic. I've been working with Onyx (the lab) like crazy and will be showing her this year, just in time for school to start. I took the ACT, finally and scored a 22 on it, which I am severely disappointed in, but oh well, I passed. Other than that, not much has been happening around here. I've missed being on here and having the chance to write though. I picked up an older manuscript of The Keeper that I had written a few years ago and was reading through it and found many good insights from it...and so much horrible writing.

I never did take the ACT. I took the SAT and scored 1220 if I recall correctly, back when 1600 was the highest possible - that makes me feel old that I have to say that.
I also look at papers from my first year of college and from high school and still wonder if I really wrote them.

Well, for the ACT the highest possible would be a 36, which means a 22 was a little above average, but I was still disapointed quite a bit.
Oh haha, don't remind. I picked up a paper I had done for history the other day and reread it: it was horribly written and I'm thinking,
"What was I thinking? *I* wrote THAT?"

Just keep in mind, far more terrible manuscripts have been published, much to the horror of readers.

I'd be the brave knight and save you, but I have to go rally the mob to chase you.

Haha. I'm sorry, I just can't help it. I like the plot LINE but hate the actual story.

Haha. I'm sorry, I just can't help it. I like the plot LINE but hate the actual story. Haven't seen/read it yet, but I can identify with the sentiment. A lot of movies or books are great in concept, poor in execution. So I just re-write them the way I think they should have been.

I loved, loved, loved the first book. I hate, hate, hate the last book.
I wrote Mrs. Meyer to tell her to take it back. My mom told my brother, who lives to torture me, the little sister. He was like, "Didn't Kathy Bates star in that movie already?"

Hmm... this is quickly approaching that which this forum does not support: Flamming. It's okay to mention books in the abstract, but referring to them by name, by author in a negative context is not what this forum is about. I could mention lots of authors, many of whom are beloved to some on this forum, that I think write trash, but that is my opinion. Meyer did something amazing: she introduced the Christian mind set to people who hate Christians... in a speculative manner as well.
In other words: she did what we are all trying to do. If you think you can do better, then please follows Divides' advice and do so. Otherwise, it's all talk.

I'm a Meyer fan all the way. Own every book she's published. Got the movie, did the midnight release and everything, Not a fan of her last book. Never meant to bash her at all.
Her story of being a mother of 3 boys inspired me to write. She made people who don't read spec as well as people who don't read books at all read 4 very thick books. That's proof that she's talented.
I think she had some great aspects to her books that agree with my Christian beliefs. Most of them in the first book. It was a secular best seller proving you do not need profanity and gratuitous sex to entertain people. A good story is all you need.
The books slid away from that with more profanity injected into each book. The last book was a little bit too much for a YA audience IMO.
Loved The Host too.
She is Mormon. That's different from being of a denomination since she pulls from more than the Bible as scripture and does not view Christ the same way as Catholics and Protestants. I was not sure of the difference until I researched it.
I'm not bashing her. I love her in Christ and pray for her often.

I hadn't really thought of it in that context until you brought it to my attention, ChristianSoldier, and I do apologize, again, for my lack of tact.

That's what I'm here for. Believe me, I understand how easy it is to fall in that negative feedback loop.
