I have a story brewing in my mind. I jot down pieces of the puzzle as they come to me.
This is just the back story of my characters:
The Painters painted the world into creation. As The Maker gave orders, the Earth Painter, Sky Painter, and Water Painter painted pictures and took them to The Maker. The Maker blessed the work and it came into being, except for people. The Maker sculpted the people. They were the only art made by the Maker's own hands and then he breathed life into them. It was more than a blessing. The Painters are in awe of the Maker's work. All except The Water Painter.
The Water Painter is not happy with his position. Painters have servants called Chie-Ree. The Chie-Ree can paint, but they can only copy the work of The Painters. There is no originality to their work. Fritz, The Water Painter is mad because the reflective properties of water forces him to copy the work of the other Painters. He feels he was made to be a Chie-Ree to the Earth Painter and Sky Painter. He stirs the water and makes waves that begin to destroy the work of The Earth Painter. He also refuses to add Mia-Dae to the water of the Earth. Mia-Dae opens the eyes of the soul to what it needs. Fritz throws the Mia-Dae down to Earth in a rage.
The Painters eventually lose their jobs to the Sciences. The Sciences are born as man begins to seek the How of Earth above the Who. Theo, The Earth Painter takes a job painting at a high school, where he can interact with The Maker's creations.
This is just back story, not the story I plan to write.
