Great to be here guys, God bless you.
I've recently finished writing a book, you could call it near future? Sci-fi? It's a little of both.
Just wanted some opinion on the Query, and of course I can send the manuscript to anyone interested.
Traveler Query
It was like turning the page of history, only to find the end of the book.
At least, that's what Eldrik Sylvester Lanson thinks after escaping from stasis in federal prison to find America empty.
Guided by Angel, a golden retriever visible only to him, Eldrik sets out across the Mojave desert on foot, trying to piece together the events that led to civilization's demise, and to create his own oasis of sanity in a world gone mad. But he soon discovers that he isn't so alone after all. His gift of 'sight' allows him to percieve the spirits haunting the scattered ghost towns, demonic entities who inhabit the tortured remains of humanity.
And then there's Sarah, a war machine with human intelligence, one of the horrific creations of Major General Joseph Cherno Montaneau. The brilliant military leader believes that Eldrik's otherworldly vision will give humanity the edge it needs to overcome the invading force he believes to be alien. But his plan to cauterize the planet without warning the other colonies is just the beginning...
Unable to convince the Major General of the reality of the spiritual warfare they're facing, Eldrik is forced to choose between his dream of a simple life, stopping Montaneau, or joining his crusade for Neo-Genesis.
Traveler is a 70,000 word christian science fiction novel.
Unique elements and target audience
The novel is set in the tradition of a classic post-apocalyptic backdrop, but uniquely there seems to be no obvious cause for the apparent apocalypse that took place. The novel deals with the main character, Eldrik Lanson, a young African American man who is a newcomer to Christian faith, gifted with abilities that force him to make difficult choices every step of the way in his travels through the deadly new landscape. Imperfect, selfish at times, Eldrik is desperately searching for a way to fit into this new world, to do the right thing. But, like Jonah, Eldrik isn't too thrilled when he discovers the role that has been chosen for him.
Thanks for your time folks
