Hey, all! I had a church member approach me last night to ask for help in finding a family to take her 10-year-old son on a more permanent basis. She is in remission from breast cancer and the son's behavior is pretty bad. The father is involved at a surface level, but he's not in the home. I have trouble with this, but I don't fully know the situation. I just cannot fathom the breaking point one must reach to want to give away their child. But again, I don't know all of the surrounding circumstances. I won't mention names, obviously, but please pray for this family. God knows who they are. Oh, and my husband (the pastor of the church) will be talking about this with the mom. He could probably use a little prayer, too. Thank you! Ashley

Lord, please grant wisdom and bestow guidance on this situation and those in it. Bring this little boy to You in power and truth. Raise up those who should care for him, be it parents or others. Bring glory out of crisis. Amen

I will be praying for this woman, her son, and the whole situation. Parenting is hard in good health and with a spouse. I can't even imagine how hopeless she feels. I pray she finds hope and strength in Christ and that God will speak through your husband.

Thank you all for your prayers.
Unfortunately - more sadness, different world -
I just found out that a close friend's brother was killed in Afghanistan today. He was a soldier. His name was Jimmy. I remember him as a two-year-old with bright blue eyes, a killer smile, and a language unknown to humans. Please pray for Jenny and her family as they mourn the loss of this brother, son, uncle, and friend.
