Here's a free, rather strange, idea for anyone who wants to use it. It came to me in a dream. But not the profound biblical type of dream . As you know, the moon waxes and wanes every month. But what about the people living there? Their world gets smaller and smaller. So every month, as the moon wanes, the people have to migrate to avoid being on the bits that disappear. As the moon begins to wax again, they spread out over the increasing surface of the globe. When I woke up, I realised there was a problem with this scenario. There is, of course, one day every month when there is no moon at all. Where would the people go then? Also, the moon reappears at the opposite side from where the last bit disappeared. The only solution I can think of is that, on the last day of the month, everyone gets onto spacecraft which are located on the bit of land which is always the last to disappear. They then zoom round to the other side, ready for the landing place to reappear a day later. All this is, of course, just a matter of course to the moon dwellers. It's as natural to them as night and day here. Don't ask me what they did before the invention of space travel.

The space craft would have to move with them, as zone they took off from wouldn't re-appear until the full moon, but there would be roughly two weeks for the moon to wax to full.
