In mid July me and my wife will be moving to South Korea for a few years to teach english. We have alot riding on us making this move. God has really made things work for this so far. Weve come into some problem with my wifes documents as she is an American living in Canada, and they dont want to cooperate on some things.
Im to the point right now that i get freaked out about everything getting in the of us going. This move is very important as it allows me to pay my student loans and save money for seminary once we get back to North America. Please pray for my peace of mind and everything to go smoothly.
We will be going to San Diago in a week and half to see my wifes family and try to see if we can get the documents more easily in person then by mail from the East Coast of Canada.

I knew a woman who followed her husband to Korea for the military and wound up teaching there. She said it was the best assignment ever. The students were so respectful she barely knew what to do with them.

I'll definitely be praying, and given my dealings with the US and Canada, it's often better to deal with each while you're in the country than out of it. I hunt in Alberta for about a week and a half each year in late fall. If we don't check our guns on the US side (which we've all bought in the US) before crossing into Canada, it's a nightmare on the return. Considering none of them are registered in the US, I've never figured out why they're so concerned — anal retentive really — about possible unregistered shotguns purchased from Canada.

Ai! I've known a lot of folks who had issues going the other way: getting Korean spouses to the US. God bless you in this endeavor

In need of more prayer. The last few days have been nerve wreaking as more complications arise. To get our Work Visa's we have to deal with the Korean Consulates. Because im Canadian i deal with the nearest Canadian one in Montreal, 0 problems as although Montreal is a days drive from us they let me have a phone interview. We figures this would be across the board the board policy, my wife called the Consulate in LA yesterday and was told that under no circumstances do they allow phone interviews. We are going to California next week but we will be gone from there by the time the paper work goes through for the interview to go through. We basically didn't no what to do we can either go to California on Tuesday however stay and fly to Korea from there. Problem is we would have to say good bye to everyone and clear our apartment in a few days and find places to store it while in Asia.
Another option is go to Boston which is the nearest US consulate to us however that would cost 500-1000 $ we don't have. We talked with are Korean Agency contact who didn't know why they wont let her do a phone interview. She told us that is varies from city to city which gave us some hope. However my wife called every single Korean Consulate in the states (10 of them) All for them except San Fransisco expect her to travel cross continental for what is 5 min interview. The only good option is San Fransisco who don't do a interview at all however if her documents have any trouble then she needs to appear for a face to face interview. Were told there a 10% chance of this which is good. However we could do it through them and be fine however a 10% chance that they will expect her to rake out 1200$ to fly there for a 5 min interview.
So were In huge hard place. Furthermore every consulate we've talked to does not seem to understand that Humans have not yet discovered free warp technologies and assume that to go to them from across the continent is as easy as it is to say, "energize"
So right now our only option besides paying hundreds of dollars in plane fair is to take the chance with San Fransisco. It could be fine however it could go horrible. unless some magical new option happens then we don't.
This has been an update/ frustrated rant.

It's so hard to have this all-conquering Christian calmness when you're in a crisis like this. I'm not sure we're really supposed to. Sometimes even Jesus raised His voice, after all. If you weren't a responsible person you could maybe be calmer, but then maybe things wouldn't get done.
I was like you are in the days before our adoption trip to China in March. I was like that somewhat when we were there. It's a time of heightened anxiety, even for those who are to be anxious for nothing.
You know Who holds it all together, so that's a comfort. And you know it will or won't work according to His will, so that helps too. Ask for the ability to do all you need to and yet to have that counterbalance in which you relax into His control. And you need to remember to be kind to your wife and the people around you, even if you're freaking out.
