When I attended the 2009 Colorado Christian Writer's Conference, my Christian speculative fiction friends Kristine Pratt and Nathan Williams (and assorted cronies, friends, and accomplices) formed a group of writers who love Christian speculative fiction.
The SquarePegs Society was born and has had a thriving e-mail loop/Yahoo group going since that day.
The SquarePegs is also assimilating other groups like a Borg cube. The WryTops group was a similar organization formed at last year's Write-To-Publish conference. The WryTops have joined SquarePegs as well.
And now it's time for further assimilation.
Regulars at The Anomaly, please welcome the SquarePegs Society.
Believe me, you guys will love each other. We're all marching to the same very strange drummer. We're basically best friends who haven't met yet.
So, SquarePegs, come introduce yourselves here. And Anomaliens, extend the Anomalous welcome (but let's forgo the tar and feathers this time, shall we?).
Jeff

Tar and feathers aren't eco-friendly anyway. I plan on using organic, free-trade, pre-chewed bubblegum and shed dog hair from huskies.

hi there,
Thanks for inviting me. I live in southwestern Michigan, with my wife and 3 young kids. I'm an ophthalmic surgeon in a christian practice.
I tend to write more science fiction, because of my background, but magic and dragons are cool too. I think it's great having a forum to bounce ideas around, especially in a field like christian speculative where it's hard to find a sympathetic audience. I look forward to your posts!
Andy Wang (of the SquarePegs)

I like the sound of this. Welcome, SquarePegs, and well met. I'm an ophthalmic surgeon in a christian practice. Incidentally, I did transcription for several ophthalmologists before I decided to switch to writing fiction. The surgeries were quite interesting.

Ooo! I love new people... but, Jeff, why can't we tar and feather them? If we just feather them, the feathers won't stick. And tar by itself is annoying without the feathers to keep the stickiness at bay.
Ah well. Then let me be the first to start a new Anomaly tradition: Hello, Andy! I hope you feel welcomed without the tar and feathers...*grumbles*. Oh, and good luk finding your way back.
God Bless -- CS!

He said no tar and feathers, but he didn't say anything about quantum handwavium epoxy and multi-appendaged buckyball filaments...

He said no tar and feathers, but he didn't say anything about quantum handwavium epoxy and multi-appendaged buckyball filaments... What about book binding glue and the millions of collective papers we've crumpled and bounced off the rim of our wastepaper baskets? Err.... Welcome Andy!

A hearty welcome, Andy of the SquarePegs!
You might notice some of the Anomaly pegs are trapezoids and parallelograms -- but we're friendly geometrics.
I like your idea best, Flyboy. It sure beats what the dog just sneezed on my leg followed by the cat rubbing against it while trying to mooch treats.

Hello, everyone!
Thanks for the invitation, Jeff.
I love fantasy and science fiction, but my writing leans toward fantasy. I live in the Cincinnati area with my husband and my two furlings, two cats named Camelot and Elias.
I look forward to chatting with you.

Welcome SquarePeggers. This is a great place to hang out and we don't have any trouble (well..not much)slipping from one dimension to the other. Caff's in the wreck room and leave your cred chip on the droid.

Being Anomalous, it has to be different every time, right?
Welcome and have fun, ye squarepegs.
