Hello all!
I stumbled upon Where the Map Ends while desperately searching for an agent or a publishing company that works with speculative Christian fiction...not an easy task as you might guess.
You can imagine my joy when I found Marcher Lord Press and then of course this site. I also found the information about the upcoming contest! So it's not just "joy" it's "happy, happy, joy, joy!!!" I'm hoping Jeff with think my novel is up to snuff enough to include it.
Anyway, I'm a Christian who loves Jesus, loves the Bible, and loves fantasy and sci-fi stories...looks like I'm in the right place! I hope all of you out there in cyber-land are doing great!

Welcome, juniperlee! Sounds like you found the right place. Blessings on your work, and if it gets into the running for Marcher Lord Select, I look forward to getting a taste of your writing.

Welcome! I found this forum myself looking for writing stuff.
I like your username, btw. It reminds me of a show I used to watch on Cartoon Network called The Life and Times of Juniper Lee. It's not on anymore though. It involved a girl named Juniper Lee who had to keep the balance between our world and a magical world full of creatures and demons, which are separated from each other by a magical barrier. I found the show interesting because of its predominantly Asian cast of characters -- unusual for a kids' show nowadays -- and also because Juniper's guide in her responsibilities is a talking pug who sounds like Shrek, which was pretty hilarious.

Glad to see you here, Juniper! I think you'll find here a bunch of very strange people with some very cool ideas. Or, maybe that's the other way around. I can never tell.
Anyway, welcome!

Pleased to meet you, JuniperLee! It sounds like you'll fit in rather well here. The only rule is this: if you find the way out, make sure to telleveryone else before you use it. Thanks!
God Bless--CS

Thanks for all the welcoming words! I'm really excited about being a part of "Where the Map Ends". Does anybody have some helpful advice on how to really get plugged in?

You're already doing everything you need to, Juniper: read and post. To change it up a little, you can post and read, but that will occasionally involve the use of precognition so be careful doing it in that order.

Welcome, juniperlee! I've found that the older posts are good to read as well, with all kinds of tips and links to help the speculative writer. Enjoy and welcome to the community!

Andy is quite correct, you should go through the older threads in each section. Just take a few days or weeks going through them and I'm sure your head will be spinning as your mind sparkles with imagination from all the info you'll have read. And as a shameless plug, be sure to read about Beyond the Charts here in the Bio and Blogs area if you haven't done so already.
