Hey everyone! My name is Ralene, and I've been meaning to stop by for months now, but kept putting it aside until I had "more time" (and, come on, who really ever has more time?). It is a pleasure to join you all here now in light of MLP's announcement!
I am fairly new to the speculative fiction genre. I didn't grow up reading the likes of Terry Brooks, Robert Jordan, or even Frank Peretti and Ted Dekker (yes, I'm lumping the spec fictions). It is only when I realized that all my story ideas had something "speculative" in them that I found my passion for this genre.
I am currently working on a contemporary supernatural suspense that I find so exciting!
It's a pleasure to meet you all!

Hey, I think everyone's got a little bit of speculative affection somewhere (sometimes it's in the closet). Welcome, Ralene!

Thanks, Andy! And I guess if I think back far enough, I did read some teen supernatural like R.L. Stine and V.C. Andrews. Maybe that's where it started. Muahaha...

Welcome! And forget about worrying about getting lost in here. If you're into speculative and Christian, then you've found your home. This is the place to be. So relax, have some Romulan ale, and don't mind the Orc in the corner. He's retarded so he's actually rather friendly. Plus he's real good at smashing the thieving goblins that teamed up with the Ferengis. And may the Lord be with you. Have fun!

Hello, Raregem! I'm taking a moment to catch up on the "hellos" I've missed as MLS has drawn a press of new members. Enjoy your journey into Spec Fic, since it seems to be new territory for you. At least around here, nobody will look at you funny. Those of us who travel without maps do well to stick together.

How did I miss you, Raregem? Hmm... I must have made the instant coffee wrong again, causes a time warp. Belated welcome!

lol...that's ok. Better late than never, right? That's why I drink tea--no time warp issues.

Sure, I'd love to share! The novel is a supernatural suspense entitled Dividing Spirits. Here's the blurb:
Ninevah Mendenhall woke up in the hospital with no memory. In the midst of dealing with the mixed emotions, she discovers a new gift that helps her discern between good and evil, angels and demons. After witnessing a murder, she joins up with an FBI agent, who thinks she’s a lunatic, and a pastor who believes in her to find the missing body. Each with their own demons to battle, they soon find that their tribulations are woven together by one source. In a rush against time, they must uncover the vile plan of a vengeful demon on the fast track with 21st century technology. If they fail, Christianity as they know it will be the ultimate victim.
