I'm new here. Just joined yesterday. My name is Bren. I'm 16 and a junior in high school. I'm sure it comes as no surprise that my passion is reading and writing spec. fic., especially fantasy, though I also dabble in other branches. My biggest book obsession is H2C (Hero, Second Class), which will probably pop up a lot when I talk. I also love sparkles, anything Asian-related, and shopping. And I have a blog--> www.puritywaits.blogspot.comSo, that's a little about my weird, random, insane self.

Welcome, Bren! I'm brand new as well. I haven't read H2C yet, but I have it on my TBR list! I've heard great things about it.

Thanks for the welcome, you two. And yes, raregem, you should definitely read H2C. It's worth the read.

Welcome, Bren! This is a great place to be to have discussions and just read the crazy and awesome things others on here write. Have fun! (and yes, Hero, Second Class is a really funny book to read, but don't forget to read the other books MLP puts out which are just as awesome!)

You're quite welcome. By the way, I started a thread in The Space Bar to discuss MLP novels called "Let's talk about MLP novels" where you might want to go to talk about what you thought was so cool about H2C. I recommend The Dark Man and The Personifid Invasion as well. Starfire's shaping up to be a great novel as I'm reading it now. And don't forget to check out Jeff's extensive Booklist on the main site: www.wherethemapends.com I've been able to find quite a few gems on there I wouldn't have known about otherwise. Again, have fun!

Welcome Bren, glad to have you on board! I like Asian related things myself, especially anime, mecha, chow fun noodles and sashimi- though not necessarily in that order.

Give me some shrimp in lobster sauce or sweet and sour chicken and add crab rangoon to either of those with some duck sauce to dip in and I'm set!

I belated welcome to you, Bren! I'm with you in having read By Darkness Hid...but I won't get into a discussion on it here, since there's a spot for that. Good to have more new faces to banter with.

Well met Bren! My daughter likes all things Asian as well. (I taught her well). So listening to and singing anime songs in japanese is one of her favorite past times. You'll enjoy hanging out around here where fantasy and sci-fi are considered normal.(Well as normal as it gets in a place where dragons share parking lots with xwings)
