Boy it is snowing here in Kansas. We've been stuck in the house since Thursday and now another foot of snow on the way. Excellent time to write!
I am desperately in need of fellow Christian Speculative writers who are serious about their work (Which is why ya'll are here I'm sure) and are serious about the art and craft of writing.
I am joining the yahoo group you guys have, but there may be people on here who are not part of the group who want to read my work/others' work.
I am looking to swap manuscripts with people who want their work professionally critiqued (my wife and I have university writing center level editing ability and many years of ms. editing experience).
I'm currently looking for editing/critique on a full length ms.
Let me know if you're interested, and have a short story or full length.
I hope this is going in the right part of the forums!

I used to be an editor and would be interested, but I don't have time to crit a full-length novel. Sorry.

I noticed you joined the Sandbox! Welcome! Has your account there been activated yet? If not, Dave will get to it soon.
Since your username is Shadow the Hedgehog, I'm extremely curious as to what kind of story you want critiqued. I still dabble in the Sonic fandom and write fanfics on the side.

We are a little slow on the uptake around these parts, so sorry for the tumbleweeds on your post! I do hope you find a good fit for critiquing. I would love to take a serious crit partner on, but honestly, until after this summer, my availability stinks. (Book releasing, Lord willing, in late July and I'm organizing a conference that is on the first weekend of August.)
I'm with Kessie...what subgenre/story types do you lean toward?

Thanks for the replies, guys!
Kessie, your website is awesome. I used to draw sonic comics back in the day and do storyboards, some of which actually ended up at Sega of America! I actually run an etsy store these days where I put video game sprites on coasters and plaques, including sonic!
I am huge fan of the spikey blue hero!
Anyway, I have joined the Sandbox, yes! And I've posted my full-length novel there. I will be more than happy to critique your fan-fic, or anything else you have going on!
Thanks again, guys, you rock!

To answer your questions: I write a mixture of action/sci-fi/speculative both secular and Christian but always with a grounding in Christian principles. I have full-lengths and short stories.

Shadow, I've got a lot of free time on my hands right now, so I would be willing to crit your manuscript. I can do Word files, although I prefer Word Perfect. You can email me at tamrionbooks@yahoo.com
Nice to have another Sonic fan around!

Looking forward to reading it, Shadow. My fav genre is action/adventure sf. love authors like Aaron Alston, Timothy Vaughn and Mike Stackpole, as well as the oldies: H. Beam Piper, Andre Norton, Ray Bradbury.

Well, you're in luck (or I'm in luck?) because it is action/adventure sci-fi post-apocalyptica with a twist! Yeah, that sounds kinda cliche, but everything's a cliche unless it's happening to you! (Max Payne reference there lol) I am going to email you my book. It is a word file, so it should work fine. And Kessie, I reuploaded a word-native version of Traveler to the Sandbox, hopefully it fixed any issues with the weird quotations formatting issue. Thanks guys

I am interested, but I don't know if you'll be... I am looking for critique partners to swap. I'm curious about the level of critique you are looking for. Please PM me if you're still looking for people.

Shadow: I finally finished this draft of a story I've been editing, so I'll be able to critique a lot more. I'll pick up the other version of your file this evening.
I used to carry an encyclopedic knowledge of the Sonic universe in my head which encompassed all the universes. All that lore has since waned to nearly nothing. Thank goodness for the wikis. (Although Blaze and Silver continue to intrigue the heck out of me.)
