Okay, so here's the scoop:
We just went to Denver to check the area out. My wife was offered four different positions (one at every place she interviewed) in the suburbs. We are definitely going to make the move, and now that I've seen the area, I'm on board one hundred percent. But there are several things we need to line up before we get there, including a job for me, and our slim finances to be enough to get us through this. We are planning on being there by the end of June, and prayers would be most appreciated.

Hurray on getting some direction, Rob! Scary as it is to move and to be going without an assured job for you, still it's awesome to know you'll have at least one source of income when you arrive.
Then you can look me up (we're in Colorado Springs) and I can really lean on you to take over the management of the Booklist on WhereTheMapEnds. [grin]

I told my wife as we were driving home that you would be only an hour away, and that we'd have to grab lunch sometime. Lean all you like; once things are settled, I won't have any more reasons to procrastinate....

Just as an update:
We have discovered that our finances are in a lot worse shape than we thought, and it's going to take a miracle to move. Moreoever, we've already given notice that we won't be renewing the lease, and I am working three temp jobs just to supplement my wife's income (I lost my job over a month ago). We can't afford (at the moment) to move, and we can't afford not to. This is one of the most insidious catch-22 situations I've ever been in.

God will provide. It is in His hands and He has all the resources you could ever need. My prayers are with you.

We have two promising leads (a job for my wife, and a possible apartment), but we continue to get hit harder and harder. We have two and a half weeks before the projected move, and things are just not lining up. Please pray for us; I know that God is fond of eleventh hour rescues, but we are coming down to the wire, and have no options.

Dear Lord, You are our rescuer. From You our help comes. We sing that You will make a way where there seems to be no way. We pray that You will help Robert and his wife during this crisis. Show them what to do and please help them do it. Amen.

Waiting for a bit of an eleventh hour rescue of my own. I fully agree with Jeff's prayer and add mine as well.

my wife and i will be praying for you to Rob. i'm also going thru a very similar situation. we're in seattle, and trying to move to saint helens, oregon. we've felt for years that the Lord has been calling us to help the church down there. we finally finished our complete remodel of our house, and were hoping for a quick sale.
it's been two months now, and still no resonable offers. i was laid off back in november (partly because we're moving) and just ran out of unemployment this week. nobody wants to hire short term in the area, and even the temp agencies are pretty dry. even with unemployment and my wife's income, our bank accounts have been steadily dropping. something is going to have to give soon, and i pray it's not us going into debt.
anyway, just wanted to let you know (more likely remind you) that someone else knows what it's like, at least in part. and my prayers for you will be full of sympathy and hope. when we pray for our own situation we'll remember that Rob and his wife need the same help we need.
may God grant you direction, and may your hearts find their peace in glorifying Him in every circumstance.

Many, many thanks. I can see the beginnings of the answer, although we've had a real let-down, and some gut-punching twists. I'll keep you informed as relevant. Right now, just really need God to start pulling some strings...hard.

I remember, nearly a year ago, we had just moved, I was trying very hard not to kill the friend we were staying with, my husband and son alternated horrible stomach bugs, we couldn't find a house to buy, and my dog was dying. But I had this very clear, Samwise Gamgee moment. I knew that in a few months, all the questions would be answered, and I'd look back on this time with peace, and the ability to see God's fingerprints all over it.
Of course, it happened. Although I sure miss that dog.

Just thought I would let everyone know that the prayers are paying off, but not to stop just yet! We have FINALLY been approved for an apartment (we move at the end of the month), and my wife does have a job lined up. Things are falling into place, and I can see the hand of God in all of it. However, we have also been "shot at" by the enemy quite a bit, and it's very plain that something or someone doesn't want us leaving this place in once piece (or at peace, for that matter). So that's the story up to this point; I'll fill you in on the details once the dust has settled. Thanks again for all the prayers, they are most appreciated.
Rob
