Your husband has my sympathies torainfor. I've cracked a rib before and the worst part is that there is really nothing the doctors can do about it. You just have to be as careful as you can.
I'm doing OK but the worst part id finding medication that will dull the pain to a workable level without making me a zombie.

UPDATE:
This pain in my shoulder isn't getting any better and I am starting to have to battle depression. I don't know if the depression is part of my bi-polar or just from being in pain for so long. Thank you for all your prayers and please continue to remember me in yours.
Scincerely,

Will definitely be praying, my friend. I hope you don't have some deep tissue damage. You might want to go back and see if there is any possibility of the lymph nodes still being inflamed. The last thing you would need is some sort of abcess forming.

Tell us again what the doctor last said, please.

The doctor said that I had just sprained it and gave me some pain meds. It's been a week since my daughter un-dislocated it and the pain just won't go away. Originally it was swollen lymph nodes under the shoulder blade. I'm not sure what it is any more. I tried taking a break from the pain meds for a couple of days and just couldn't take the constant pain. I'm taking the meds again, and am getting some things done on my story, but it slows me down (and I write slowly enough as it is.)
I'm on page 177 on my manuscript so far (71,000+ words) and am working toward the climactic battle for Kyushu that ends the book. Im hoping to get a complete draft before the end of the month ( although I'll settle for the end of the year.)
Once I do that I'm going to need advice on how to get a good agent.
Anyway, none of this is helped be being in pain and being semi-drugged.
One more thing that could use some prayers. My father-in-law is staying with us because he got bitten by something on his foot (probably a black widow or brown recluse.) His ankle joint swelled up and became immobilized and it started spreading to the other joints in the foot and his knee. He's 80 years old and diabetic, so foot wounds are already a problem. He has started to recover somewhat, but still has a ways to go, and his health is fragile anyway. Any prayers on his behalf would be appreciated. His name is David Gillette.

Pain and depression seem to go together. My husband Scott suffers from recurring migraines and over the past year and half or so at times they've been so bad that he goes into bouts of depression. It's tough; but God is tougher.
I agree with Jeff; time to go see the doctor again about the arm. Something's not right and it's more than just a sprain. My prayers will continue to be with you.
God bless.

My prayers go with you, Mark, and your father in law as well. I know how it can be to care for someone with a foot injury.

UPDATE: (boy this thread is getting long)
I went back to the doctor and chiropractor today. The chiropractor checked me for joint damage and found no evidence of a rotor-cuff tear or other damage, but said that there was a lot of swelling within the joint that could eventually damage it if I don't get it under control.
The doctor revised his opinion and sent me for x-rays and gave me a referral to an orthopedic surgeon. I'm just hoping that it doesn't tale weeks or months to get an appointment. (My father-in-law is still waiting for his appointment with a rhumatologist.)
Anyway, I started taking my pain meds again and the depression has lifted, so I have given thanks and praise to Him and all of you have my deepest appreciation for your encouragement and prayers.
Oh, thanks for the tip Jeff. I'll be following it up as soon as I have a finished draft.
Scincerely,

Would it be fair to ask if your daughter read "A Farewell to Arms" before helping you with your problem?

Gotta love ya Rob!
Anyway, the pain comes and goes and I try to do as much as I can when it isn't looking.
Strangely enough, this has been a really productive time in my writing, despite the pain. Kind of wierd.

Focusing attention on a project helps over-ride the attention on the pain. Some of my most productive times have occured while riding out an arthritis flare-up (I have three kinds). God has a reason for everything He wants us to endure. Sometimes we only see it in hindsight, if at all; but be assured He gives us what we need to get through it.
How's your father-in-law doing?
My prayers are with you both.

OK, first of all, my father-in-law is doing better. He is moblie and my in-laws went home recently. His ankle is still very swollen and painful, but he is able to cope with it better.
"God has a reason for everything He wants us to endure. "
As for why I am enduring this pain, I was reviewing my prayer life and realized that I have been asking God for help in being able to focus. I've got to pay more attention to what I ask for.
